We had a July booking cancelled last week and changed it to Easter at no extra cost.

So if they cancel the flights you can always get them to rebook for the 2 weeks the following week and even if the flight prices go through the roof it wont matter.

My booking was originally a super cheap June booking (£1508 somehow for Direct flight for 2 adults and 1 child plus 10 nights at Cabanna Bay , we were going for 18 night but i was booking a dvc rental for the Disney bit.)
Moved to 2 to 20th April , 10 nights same hotel and only an extra £186 for the hotel increase. When i rebooked flights alone were showing at £800+ each!.(just checked again and now at £1453 each! - Now im sure they will drop but my god im suprised they let me change with no fee for them!)
Oh I didn’t know this! Do you know if they would still honour that is the flights hadn’t been released yet ie changing this August for next August? If this August gets cancelled the flight won’t be released until October time.

I'm supposed to go 17th August, pretty much convinced it's not going to happen Can't push back as wife works at school

Ah well

Also just had an email from Virgin, the flights I also have booked for March 2022 have just been changed

I think I'll give up and have a holiday on Wigan pier instead

Thinking might be cheaper to do this now rather than have to amend if we can’t travel on 7th when flight prices could potentially rocket. We’ve already paid balance in full and amendments are free. We’d get a full refund if we aren’t allowed to travel.

Should I wait until we find out (who knows wheb?!?) or push it back as far as we can now?

Have you allowed for a possible 10 days quarantine on your return if the US is only put on the amber list ? We were in the same situation - flying out on 12th for 2 weeks but have cancelled and booked for next year so we dont have to worry about traffic lights and tests for this year.

We were booked for the 14th August but have applied for a refund as we were flying with Aer Lingus and Stobart from our local airport until they went bust. That was the final straw I was already worried as we were due back on 5th September so amber wouldn’t work for us. All the uncertainty of tests too just seems too hard this year. 😞

I never thought of this either, we are booked for two weeks from 7th August but that was only because I was allowing 14 days at the end for quarantine if necessary but that has been reduced to 10 now so as long as we are back by the 27th that would be OK.

Think I’ll stick with 7th. I will cost £250 more to switch to 2 weeks from 19 night. Just gotta keep everything crossed I suppose!
