Aer Lingus flights to LAX cancelled
Finally had an email from AL to say all Flights cancelled to from LAX until 30th October. I can have a voucher plus 10% or they will book me on another flight.
Hmm not keen on either thanks money back please. I hear it’s 2 hr wait on the phone so might have to wait until later before I can face that.

Disappointing news. I would say they have jumped the gun with the cancellations but there's not much good news coming out of anywhere at the moment.

Gutted for you.
I go on 22nd October and I’m with BA who, of course are part of the same company. So it’s concerning for me selfishly. |

Update I rang AL yesterday afternoon and was all done in 15 mins. Money to be refunded in full within 7-10 days although said might be more like 14 because of the amount of refunds they’re processing.
Then spent the next half hour cancelling everything else 😞. But at least it’s done and the decision has been taken out of my hands. Fingers crossed for 2022

Sadly, that's exactly what they told us, back on 19th May when OUR flight was cancelled
Not a word nor a sniff of any refund up to now... Hubby looking at a chargeback now.

One thing to remember is that Aer Lingus canceled routes like LAX during the recession. It was only back a few years when covid hit so it won't be the first route reinstated when the borders open. SFO is expected to be the first one they reinstate. On the west coast, LAX and Seattle would come later. So, even if the EI LAX direct flight is not going, the borders could still be open. And of course, BA does not have the same issue and will serve LAX so when borders open there will be a way although some airlines will take longer to reinstate their full route map.
