Woke in terms of what it means now is not good in many people’s eyes. So probably bad choice of word by me.
It is seen as biased, liberal elite, and actually very aggressive, trying to shut down debate. Do not like other opinions. Want it shut down. Always see things through the same lens. Actually woke for me is associated with compliance aggression.
Words have different meanings to different people.
I think you make the point I was trying to make more succinctly than me

Exactly this. The origins of the term, imo, were correct and I’d support that. As you articulated YT, it has been hijacked and turned into something more sinister now.

This is a good explanation;

We used to have 2 news channels that where slightly on different sides the bbc that lent slightly to the left and sky news that was slightly to the right. Sky has moved to the same as the bbc since it changed hands. So maybe a news channel with a slight lean to the right is needed. So people with a left leaning can watch what they want and be happy they don’t have to watch the new channel and people who lean to the right have a news channel they can watch. Just because it doesn’t fit you political agenda it doesn’t make it wrong.

Interesting and good to see the guests allowed to speak without being interupted all the time, although it looks like they tie themselves in knots in the process. He seems a really skilled interviewer. I'm looking forward to the launch of the channel.

Oh I'm looking forward to it I think Neil and Ferrari will strike a balance to (in my opinion) the left leaning Sky, BBC, C4 etc.
There is definitely a quick to denigrate anyone with the slightest disagreement to left leaning woke liberals. It will be nice to see them being grilled!

He explains it extremely well. I am sure many of us have been victims.

Agreed, especially when people can’t differentiate on what it’s now become.

Woke is definitely used on the dibb as an insult. Usually in conjunction with PC and snowflake - and lately do-gooder. I have been a target many a time. So I find use of the word is used to shut down debate from the other side too...

Very eloquently put. I drafted and posted a reply around lunchtime but thought better of it - I dont need the stress but its a shame I just get shut down by those who think (wrongly) they know more and know better (again incorrectly given my history)

Basically, Fox News.
He was great on LBC so a good addition and big help on ratings.
Balance, it's what is needed.
