First Cruise Booked - Disney Wish

Just booked my first cruise ever today. Sailing on the Wish 23-26 Sept 22 in a verandah stateroom. I’ve downloaded the app and my reservation is showing. I’m on deck 9 aft. Not even sure I’ve picked the right stateroom but there wasn’t a huge amount left. Managed to get a non-connecting room which is good. It’s not too far from the elevators either. I guess I’ll be able to do more research once the maiden voyage has sailed but any general Disney cruise advice is welcome. What do you wish you’d know on your first cruise?

Our first cruise was on the Magic.

Didn't miss anything on that cruise and did all the activities we wanted to do. It was an Xmas cruise, we went full on with pirate night, wearing pyjamas to breakfast on Xmas morning, taking dressy clothes and following the crowd.

Having been on a few cruises now don't feel pressured to dress up or think you have to do every activity to squeeze the value out of it. We meet loads of people who are very relaxed about the dress code, they are mostly Platinum cruisers so cruise how they like, not how everyone else does.

Our 2nd cruise was a Panama 14 day one on the Wonder. We were schooled by our tablemates that you can order from any menu in any restaurant, order extra courses, customise your order and generally be treated like VIPS. Work with your server and they will look after you. If you are not happy about anything, don't be shy about saying so, they will do their upmost to help.

I booked a cruise on the Wish yesterday, going 19th-23rd of September. We too are in a deluxe stateroom with verandah on deck 10 forward. I think you have got a great room, I am going to keep looking if rooms come available to change ours. We would like deck 9 midship, starboard side if possible but if we cant, we are still happy with what we have.

I’ve gone for starboard too.
