We were on an afternoon flight which meant we were probably just going to grab food and bed but now we are on a 9am flight we land at 2pm so the plan is:

Hire Car
Onto Disney Springs to collect magic bands from planet hollywood.
Off to the hotel to unpack
Walmart trip for essentials.
Then food probably somewhere near the hotel on the 192.
Bed

Love this thread and reading people’s plans on landing!
Have only been a few times
1) Me & friend. Got dropped off by coach at Travelodge Maingate East - there was a McDonalds & Denny’s right outside, but McD’s won! Crossed into old town & managed to find somewhere with water (can’t remember where now), then back to room & watched TV, then bed.
2) Me & DH honeymoon (25yrs ago) landed & picked up car. Dropped bags & went to TGI’s for dinner (this chain was relatively new to the UK at this point)
3) Me & DH West Coast Trip (22yrs ago) - landed in LA, drove to 1st night hotel which we had a nightmare finding due to a road closure. Went to hotel restaurant- DH orders a massive meal (I was thinking he wanted just a light snack). I was so tired I ordered a cheese toastie & could barely eat it - pleading with him to hurry & finish his meal (I have no stamina when tired!). Straight to bed after.
4) Florida 2019 with our kids. Flew into Fort Lauderdale to save £££ with 6 of us flying during Easter holidays. Obvious downside is that we then had to drive to Orlando & get to Management Company office for villa keys. Took 4hrs including a refreshment stop. Kids still went in pool, lol! Went to Denny’s for breakfast next morning, then to Walmart. We’ve both said that if we’re fortunate enough to go again, we’d fly to MCO. Kids will be older, so who knows, hopefully be able to stay up in the evening (although I can guarantee i’ll still be tired!).

Depends where we fly in to and what time really. When landing at 3 in the afternoon in Miami m we go to the airport hotel and check in and then have a swim in the pool and a couple cocktails. Flying in to Tampa or Orlando, we usually go to the villa via a supermarket and then get a take out and eat it by the pool. Sometimes we stay at Disney and get the magical express and we then just look around the resort and get a bite to eat. We have found that pushing through and staying up later does not work for us, although it does seem to for others. We usually go to bed by about 8 and normally sleep through til about 6 am. If we stay up til after 10pm, we always wake up at about 3-4 am, I don’t know why, it must just be the way our bodies work (or we are just weird!)
