Our first new puppy came home nearly a month ago
And the second two weeks ago Set straight rules like if they arnt gonna be allowed on the sofa don’t let them from day one Take them outside to go look every half hour so they learn that’s where they go Get a vet plan and insurance |

Diiferent routines work for different families.
We brought Riley home at 9 weeks, For toilet training we took him out to same spot in garden to wee / poo . When he was seeing I would say “be quick “ that was his cue , when he had done it would praise loads with a treat. He still at 7.5 yes old weeks/ poos in the same place in garden. Take the puppy out there after naps, after plays , after dinner, after , after and after lol, get used to doing their business outside . I would take him out every half an hour, that resulted in a fast toilet trained dog that only had one poo accident in the house and that was week 1. We used a crate but we did get up in the night to take him out , didn’t want him.To get used to seeing or pooing in crate. We would put him in crate about 10pm after last wee . We would get up about 2am take him out . Resulted in dog that never wee or pooped in house . By 6 months he was sleeping upstairs out the crate with us lol.

All of ours and there’s been a few taken out to the same spot in the garden still use it
Crate trained and still sleep in the crates or in the crate when we are out The no go area in our house is the dinning room and kitchen areas even on our open plan granny annex they don’t come into that area We did also take out during the night for the first week Rarely had any accidents after the first week with them all even the frenchies |

I would tell you to be careful on the stairs! We added a puppy at the end of June to our older 2 dogs. I was rushing downstairs in the morning to feed them and let them out and slipped and broke my fibula. I’m 3 weeks in of 6 weeks in a plaster cast not being allowed to weight bear. Toilet training has not easy!
I would also say enjoy your puppy as they grow so quickly! You are going to have great fun with your new addition. We would never be without dogs. |

Oh my gosh, you poor thing !
I have buckled down my stairs a few times but never worse than a sore ankle, luckily (although the pain was excruciating !) Thank you . Weren’t supposed to be getting him before we went away but breeder said she recommended it for bonding purposes so the next couple of weeks will be interesting ! |

It’s an exciting time. We’ve always had ours from 8 weeks old - I know breeders sometimes want them to go later - they change so quickly! Enjoy xx
