Deluxe dining plan - is it worth it?
Hi!
Interested to know if anyone has used the deluxe dining plan? Did you get value for money? I’ve done the maths on the standard dining plan and we definitely think it’ll be worth it for us personally but might be interested in upgrading to the plus or deluxe. Providing Disney start selling them again! |

Personally, even though it sounds value for money I am not sure I could manage 3 table service type meals per day... Would this not be too much food.
We rarely eat at lunch time while there, if we have the dining plan we usually use our snack credit around lunch time and just eat big at breakfast and dinner (or tea depending on where you're from!).

We have done the deluxe plan for a five day stay last year and I had it booked for an eleven night stay this year (that did not go ahead).
I don’t think anyone books the deluxe dining plan because they want three TS meals every day, I think people generally use it if they enjoy the signature dining experiences. We used and planned to use it for breakfast, sometimes character breakfast, and then a signature dinner, using a snack credit for lunch. I don’t think value for money was our main motivation for choosing it. We like it because we generally prefer TS to QS venues and we like that we get a starter with the deluxe plan, we only occasionally eat dessert. I find the deluxe DDP or no DDP works best for us, the regular DDP I find too restrictive as I can’t eat wherever I want and chose whatever I want from the menu. When we had the deluxe plan for five days, we had no trouble using the credits, with my (cancelled) eleven day trip it seemed that it could be hard to use all the credits up, however as mentioned, squeezing every last bit of value out of it was never our priority. I think the new Disney + plan strikes the perfect balance between DDP and DxDDP and that is the one we would go for in the future should it exist. |

Thanks for this. That's what we are thinking, it would be nice to do more of the signature restaurants...we've only ever paid out of pocket so it would be a different experience for us. Definitely considering the dining plan plus now though. Fingers crossed things get back to "normal" soon and it becomes available again! 😆

Me and my husband use the Regular Dining Plan every visit and we are massive foodies and eat a lot. We found even this plan was pushing our limits of food so the Deluxe would literally make us sick!

You say that but if you actually look at costs, none of the 2 credit restaurants are worth double the cost of a single credit. For this reason, we always get the regular DDP and if we want a signature, we'd pay OOP to get our moneys worth.

It is a huge amount of calories and fat per day- no thanks, we can’t each that much.
It is a good plan to get if you book two rooms and only get it on one room and split the credits between two though.
