Your kids don't have to have charging privileges.

This isn't really a change, as kids were able to charge on the old system, if you allowed it.

Thanks for the info.

It's our first time staying in Disney this year, so never had a KTTW card. Handy to know that restrictions can be put on

Just got back yesterday from WDW...Stayed at All Star Sports

All my family had named card...you place the card by the left hand reader and put your index finger on the fingerprint reader... the lights begin to glow spin around and turn green when all ok..there is always a cast member to check all is ok so you cant sneak in...
The bag check is still there though... also to note Universal,Seaworld also now have fingerprint readers linked to named cards...these cards use barcodes not rfid chips. The first time you use your card and fingerprint this is stored for future use...

We found entrance to be quicker with the new system as they had two readers in the place of one turnstile ,and they were very easy to use.

In reply to the question about how this is faster, in place of one turnstile, there are usually now four points in the same space for touching in your card and finger print

We just got back from POP and had the MagicBands and frankly they are quite awesome.

Used this new RFID system for the first time today at Typhoon Lagoon and it's a breeze. Really does speed up the access into the parks. Not before time Disney, well done.
