1 Holiday, 3 Car Hires

Hi all

We are hoping to fly into Miami next August and have a couple nights there and then drive up to Orlando for 3 weeks and fly home from miami

the problem being Hubby is the only driver in our house

we have 6 kids and will need an 8 seater, this is fine for the holiday but to and from Miami it will be a huge squeeze with Suitcases and Buggy etc so hubby has said we should hire a 12 seater to Drive from MIA-Orlando and then swap it for a 8 seater then swap for a 12 seater to drive back to mia

Apart from having to do 3 seperate bookings and the hassle of taking one car back and picking up another twice, is there any problem with doing this?

Hubby point blank refuses to drive a 12 seater for the whole 3 weeks

I woudnt want to drive a 12 seater around for 3 weeks either, find a hire company close to where you are staying, lots of hotels have the facility to pick up drop off car hire. No need to go back to local airport to exchange.

Any idea of hire companies who dont hold a huge amount on your cc, dont fancy 3 huge holds on there?

I would book with Alamo if you can, as far as I now they don't take a hold on your card, if they do it's a small amount, someone on here might clarify that, where abouts are you staying,

Will you be using the 12 seater once you have arrived at okw, seems silly to pay for a car to sit there for 8 days, you can arrange car hire for drop off and pick up by Disney springs.

Alamo Rent A Car

Car rental company · Walt Disney World Resort, 1900 Buena Vista

OP. Best option for you is the Disney Car Care Centre. So you would do this
Miami to OKW, drop family and luggage off then drive to the CCC
They transport you free back to OKW.
Later get them to take you back to the CCC and get an 8 seater
Then the rentals continue but no Alamo minibus is needed as you will just be swapping vehicles at their depot.

The reason I say the CCC is because the Hotel locations dont offer to collect/drop you off. Too far to walk from the rental location mentioned by tinkerella123 albeit it would be fine if you were at SSR but not for OKW
