With reference to your fast pass question, whilst you can book your 3rd Fp on the day it can't be another tier 1 until you have used all 3 FP, in the same park. Point to note though if you went this route, if you do it on the day & the earliest that 3rd FP is 16:00 (for example) you can't book your next FP until that window opens at 16:00, so there is no benefit to waiting.

Toystory (if open) plus star tours.
If we only book two fastpasses at 30 days can we book the 3rd one on the day in the park at another tier 1 ride after we've done the other two fastpasses?
No you can't. The first 3 fastpasses must all be in the same park. After you've tapped in for your third fp, you can then book another one in a different park, and that can be tier one if available.

As we will be booking at 30 days there's no point even trying for AK fast passes in the morning.
Plan is to book for the afternoon TSM or RnR tier 1 and STours and TOT tier 2.
Hopefully by the evening we'll be able to get something for Epcot.
As far as I can tell this is a quiet time of year so hopefully we'll get lucky.

I am not familar with the tour that was referenced but a one day hopper is close to $200. so you may be better off with the tour. Or an annual passm It is my understanding that WDW nolonger offers no expiry tickets and all expire shorty after the first use so it may make sense to go with the annual pass or a tour if that provides hopping.

We ordered our tickets yesterday. £125 each.
Expensive, but we're up for the challenge!
My mate has never done Disney, I'm sure he'll catch the bug after this.

Not sure if we have over estimated what is achievable in a day.
Never been this time of year before so used to the August crowds.
At the end of April crowds shouldn't be too bad. The Easter and Spring Break crowds will have died down and so it probably won't be much different to the end of August crowd levels.

Personally, I'd book your first 3 at HS - for example: RnR, ToT and Star Tours. Once you've used these 3 (i.e. as soon as you tap in for your third attraction) you can see what's available at Ecpot for your fourth fastpass.

Unfortunately, the same rules apply to the first 3 fastpasses you use each day no matter how you do it. So, you can only pick one Tier 1 fastpass in the first 3 fastpasses and all 3 of them must be in the same park. There are no such restrictions for the fourth, and subsequent, fastpasses.

Unfortunately, the price of the tour does not include entrance into the parks - you still need to buy tickets in addition to the tour. In effect, what the tour gives you is an "ultimate" fast pass to lots of rides. But you still need tickets to actually get into the parks to use that ultimate fast pass.
