Alamo and adding tolls

can you add as part of the package, prearranging tolls

I am trying to help our son who has not driven before, going with his wifes family and think it would be easier him going on the toll road , quieter for first time driver

also easier if he didn't need to stop at the toll booths

Ali. No need to with Alamo as they have a great and cost effective system.
As he drives through the SunPass lane for the first time it activates the toll system automatically.
His admin bill for the entire vacation will be $19.75 in total. Plus the tolls as well.
He will be billed between 1 week and 6 to 8 weeks after he is back home as they do the billing in batches not when each car is returned.

This is the link to the costs. As can be seen Alamo is very good.

sunpass/rentalcar

Ali. It depends, sometimes I do Brits or a stand alone hire via Virgin Atlantic. Netflights can be good for Alamo as well.

What are his dates and vehicle type he wants?

Ali. I never take the breakdown cover but some do. If he does want it let me know as there is a UK company and a US company that loads use that is half the price of getting it from Alamo and it offers better coverage!

If it can wait until tomorrow morning I will look for some prices for him and post the results on here. I can’t do it now sorry as we are heading out.
Hope you and the family are well.

Oh, Sanford or Orlando?

Ali. I have checked a few Companies out and for each one listed the first price is an Intermediate SUV and the second a Standard SUV.

Brits - 2 drivers
£355
£369

Virgin - 2 drivers
£411
£444

Netflights - 1 driver
£377
£392

Andy @ Discountfloridacarhire - 1 driver
£359
£373

Auto Europe - 1 driver
£339
£351

So with just 5 companies Auto Europe is coming out the best for an Alamo hire. There are others that will come in cheaper such as Budget etc etc. I would be grabbing the Brits price however as they are a known quantity/quality and allow 2 drivers and then monitoring it to see if any come cheaper or it drops as you can cancel with no penalty as you know.

Alamo is now owned by Enterprise.
I decline the box.
I went through a toll in New Jersey without paying and one in Pennsylvania.
Never heard about the Pennsylvania one, but they sent me a bill for the New Jersey one, it was about £6. Looked at the admin fee and it was hardly anything.
Result ! Much better than paying for the box at about $20.

YT. No need to accept or decline the box as it's not part of a Florida rental. Elsewhere yes but Florida is all done via photography.

They don't have boxes in Alamo hire cars these days. All of the sunpass lanes are ANPR cameras, they simply bill the hire company, who pass the charge on.

If you don't use the sunpass lane you can chose to pay at the booth in cash.
