Mobile Currency card

Hi,do most people just add all their money to one card or do you use different companies and say put $500 on each?

We have a FairFx account with two cards on it, one in each of our names. You can move the money between the two cards, so you could just put a couple of hundred dollars on the card you take with you and leave the remaining money on the card that you leave in the safe. Or you could just split the money between the two cards. We have used both methods!

I've now also got a Barclaycard credit card that has no foreign currency transaction fees, nor does it charge fees or interest on cash withdrawals at ATMs. So this year we've got some money on the FairFx cards and I'll use the Barclaycard as well. If the exchange rate moves up in the next month I may add to the FairFx balance, otherwise I'll just use the Barclaycard.

If both of these methods fail, I've got another backup credit card

I do what crux does. Offload from the main card to my wife's, which is not used, and then top up the main card while we are away. Also take cash and credit cards (PO Mastercard) which doesn't charge for paying in dollars.
