We flew on a refurb last week to Tampa. It was fine. We were 4 across the middle and leg room was ok.

OP- I hope you end up having a good flight in the end.

Is there a way you can find out if you are on a refurb plane? We fly to Tampa in a few weeks with BA. We experienced BA last year to California( Only ever flown Virgin before that) Wasn't impressed as the plane was in a right state. We were in PE and the IFE was so bad my hubby turned his off. MY foot rest was broken and the seat look like it had been mawled by a puppy! I vowed never again at the time ! We said we would just stick to economy and just get there. Prices were good again when I was looking to book and at the end of the day, BA did get us there and back safely and cabin crew were fantastic. We have the money to fly PE but never do. My husband is a bit of a funny one with planes. He just says, its a means to an end and as long as we get there safe, we spend our cash on the hotels and spending. Our holiday starts when we arrive at the destination. I know for a lot of people it starts at the airport.

We are flying on a refurb in December to FLL. The flights were so cheap that I doubt I'll have any grounds for huge complaint. But still interested to hear from the OP what is so bad.

The easiest way is to go into Manage My Booking and select the change/book a seat option. When the map loads see how many seats in the economy middle row. If it's 4? Then it's a refurb.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong? I fly Club World with BA don't you know! ?

Thank you. I just checked that way and it is still showing 3-3-3 configuration both ways. So I guess we are on an old plane.

I am guessing its because its now 3-4-3 compared to the old 3-3-3, i believe they have made the seats and the isles narrower.

We flew, out to Tampa on a older layout plane at end of June and flew back on a refurbed plane 3 weeks later.

Service Identical, food identical, didn't see or hear anyone being hit by a trolley. Didn't notice any tangible change in seats however IFE is a lot better on refurbed plane. Bigger screen and graphics.

At the end of the day it's a seat in an aluminium tube, to get you to your chosen holiday destination.
