First offsite guests to start testing FastPass+
Could this be what the rules for all offsite guests will be?
FastPass+ will begin testing this month for the first time with guests staying at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin. Guests arriving between November 4 2013 and January 12 2014 will be eligible for the FastPass+ testing. Unlike guests staying at the Walt Disney World Resort hotels, guests taking part in this test will not have access to MagicBands, and will not be able to make advance FastPass+ reservations. Surely it would be a nightmare if people couldn't make some form of advanced reservation. Think how many people enter the parks each day who don't stay on site. They couldn't possibly cater for all of those in wanting to make fastpass reservations when they enter the park. I expect it's more at this stage because the reservation system is tied into a WDW booking.

They'll be using fastpass+ but will only be able to make their ride reservations on the day at the park.

I can imagine the length of lines to use the machines to make reservations would be hurrendous!

Either that or the expectation is that you will use the app.
Data roaming charges for me if I had to do that each day would be horrendous ! |

There's free WiFi in all the parks, so you wouldn't need to pay for data roaming.

I'm going to really miss the regular fastpass system. I loved putting my park ticket in the machine and getting the pass. Sometimes when we accidentally missed our time slot I saved the passes and put them in the scrapbook as souvenirs.

I'm going to miss getting like four fast passes for Space Mountain in one day! We work the system to a T, walking here there and everywhere to get lots of fast passes for all the best rides. Sure your feet might hurt, but it was worth it! Stupid new system and only three fast passes grrrrr
