Upgrade to annual pass!

So we arrived yesterday, headed over to Disney Springs and guest relations, with the intention of upgrading our park tickets to annual passes.
At $468 each I think we will pass! It will be cheaper to buy a regular 14 day ticket again when we come back in October.

That's still about £35 (give or take with the FX rate) less than what you would pay for a new 14 day ticket, isn't it? The saving isn't huge, but the discounts you get might add to the AP's value.

That’s a good price though isn’t it?

I have a breakeven price of $597 against 14 day 2020 tickets so anything less is a bonus and will mean we get the discounts for both trips.

I agree. Current 14 day ticket price is £429 which is approx $560. Perhaps you were thinking it was $429?

Could be Wong but don’t you get free parking with a AP that could save quite a bit

Yeah they can get ones that around in the $150 mark I think but non-DVC you only save a little bit in relation to tickets on the price. You however save on everything else like parking

Yes you do indeed! At least $25 a day you go to parks so this can add up. We worked out we're gonna be at the around $250 mark per trip (usually do around 10 days of actual park trips) so this on top of the $60 saving or so makes it well worth it. I'm going to get my 14 day upgraded in September when doing free dining (already got an active AP up til August) and then the rest of the troop can get their 14 day tickets in May as September is a solo trip for me. Means we will save on the parking aspect and could be significant.

We have never had cause to buy annual passes previously as it's usually a couple of years in between these holidays. We only need them this year as a friend has invited us to their villa and we have got some cheap flights for later in the year.
Will certainly help with the cost of parking though and the discounts.
Thanks for the advice 👍🏻

👍🏻
As DVC members we qualify for Gold passes which don't include waterparks and have black out days so they're significantly cheaper. You're right, we upgraded ours for $54 each, which is a no brainer, but very different passes to the ones you now have

Enjoy, it's still a saving and don't forget your perks and discounts, I particularly like the new AP holders separate entrance.

Was it $468 extra each including or excluding tax?
Looking to do this in October as we are also visiting next year and the parking saving is a massive help!

Parking is the main saving we took into account and 10% on selected food
