Aer Lingus Indirect Flights - Nightmare

Same here, I had TC flights to LA for Friday 27th September - rebooked with Aer Lingus for an extra £1600 for same day from Manchester. When we got to the airport it was showing 45 min delay, got to the gate & they said there was a technical difficulty & were waiting for an engineer, eventually took off at 1.30pm instead of 11.35, flight to LA was 3pm. We landed at 2.30 & reached the terminal at 2.50 as you have to be bused in. We were stopped in our tracks & told to collect bags & book new tickets. There were at least 9 of us going to LA & another 15 or so connecting to USA, all taken to a hotel.
At the hotel they said same thing happened day before, I tracked the flight the next day & it was late not sure if it made conncetion but I have been tracking it & it never seems to go on time! It must cost them a fortune as we each get 600 euros from them plus hotel & food. Never done indirect & will never again, such a weird way to run a business!

Well, we got back late last night, and thankfully everything worked out OK, slight delays there and back but nothing that meant we missed our connections. Still don't like indirect flights, and think if we went with Are Lingus again we would book the flight to Dublin for the night before and stay in Dublin overnight.

Glad to hear it all worked out well for you. Hope you had a lovely holiday! Aer Lingus is our preferred airline. We rate them very highly and pay a premium to fly with them!

All these stories have put me off that Man to USA via Diblin flight for good.

Puts me off doing again, but if a good price plus the US immigration, I'd
get the earlier flight or go to Dublin day before. Still waiting for compensation
