Have a good trip. DD did a BA then an MA in Politics, specialising in American political systems. It can be hard to get graduate jobs but make sure he gets lots of work experience as it pays off.

It's been a while since I've updated this post but with our holiday fast approaching I thought I'd better.

I now have a Fairfx card which I have been loading when the rate has hit 1.60 to buy attraction tickets online. This weekend I have booked our NBC Studio Tour tickets and our Radio City Music Hall Backstage Tour tickets. We are now doing these attractions on Sunday rather than Saturday as I couldn't get availability for the Saturday morning for the NBC Studio Tour. I still have to buy tickets for the Empire State Building, Intrepid and the Harry Potter Exhibition. The HPE wasn't on our original itinerary as I only found out a couple of weeks ago that it will be on while we are there. I can't get these until I load some more on the card at the end of the month when I get paid. The Broadway shows tickets I'm still keeping an eye on their prices.

I have since found out that we can't check in online with AA as our first flight is with Flybe (even though we have a through ticket). Flybe will check our luggage right through but we wil need to check in with AA when we arrive at Manchester. We only have 1 hour and 40 minutes (was originally 3 hours but AA have brought their flight time forward) so I have bought fast track passes for security at Manchester Airport. We may not need them but better to be safe than sorry. I have started keeping a check on the Flybe flight to see whether it takes off on time from Glasgow and Friday just past it took off late but arrived 20 minutes early in Manchester.

Hi, i've just come across your post concerning bed bugs at the Waldorf Astoria. We stayed at this hotel in February 2010; didn't have any problems at all. We thought it was a fantastic hotel in a great location, we wouldn't hesitate to stop there again. If i can be of any further help with regards to this hotel do not hesitate to ask.

You go a few weeks after us, dont know if you've been keeping an eye out, but the tickets on broadwaybox.com for the shows are starting to appear for May and June. Im keeping an eye on a couple for when we go, altho having just upgraded flights and villa for the orlando part of the trip I dont want to go too mad

I have never seen Phantom and its one Ive always wanted to see, just not quite sure what DS10 would think about it . . .so maybe it will be Mary Poppins or Billy Elliott, although also thinking of the Blue Man Group in new York.

We are waiting to see if we are going to get a Big Apple Greeter, so am not going to do any more planning until I know am booking our Sony tickets on monday tho when I can call from the office LOL

Seems you're coming along well!

I check Broadwaybox.com every day. I used their code to get money off our NBC Studio Tour tickets. I'm hoping they might put a discount on for the Harry Potter Exhibition. We enjoyed our visit to the Sony Wonderlab in May 2009. Mind and ask if the afternoons are quieter as we were advised to go in the afternoon because of school parties in the morning. There is a good Nintendo store at the Rockefeller Centre. The downstairs is geared up for the DS and has a few out to play on and the upstairs is geared up for the Wii. Again they have a few out to play on. My DS always gets a couple of teeshirts from there as you can't get the same ones here in the UK.

My DS isn't particularly keen on seeing Phantom but there are so few shows on on the Monday night and he knows how much I love it. If Mary Poppins was on on a Monday we probably would be going to see that.

We went to see Mary Poppins while we were there. We've seen many shows 'We will Rock You' at Birmingham and London; my son has seen 'Wicked' and 'Les Miserables' at London but we agreed that this was far better.
