Raw food diet for dogs

Hi,

Does anyone feed raw for their dog?

If so, what do you feed? How often etc?
Do you make your own or buy pre prepared?

I will be getting a puppy soon and although I wont be feeding him anything different to start with, once he gets older id like to try him on raw. I was always tempted with my previous dogs but they were older and I didn't want to change up their diet at that time in their lives.

we feed nutriment twice daily and have done for over a year now. Our dog absolutely loves it and is thriving on it. It's actually working out about the same price as the grain free dried food we were feeding him.

My dog is part raw fed. I've considered doing all raw but I find I need a fair bit of space in the freezer. We have a great local butcher who does pet food. I buy marrow bones for a treat. A bag of minced chicken squash and other veg bits cost 60p he gets a 1/4 of a pack for breakfast. They have all sorts of meats beef being more expensive. He's rather partial to the chicken hearts 🤢 He has hills science plan kibbles for tea. I have switched those to the grain free. My friend did point out tho that if he's eating chicken fed on grain he's not grain free. He suffers really bad with itchy ears so will try other non grain meat next.

We feed raw and buy it ready prepared from Natural instinct. The dogs are fed twice a day, although when the puppy was young it was 4 times a day until 4 months old and then 3 times a day until around 8 months old. Quantity was a bit of trial and error. Natural Instinct recommend 2-3% of body weight per day for adults and 5-6% per day for puppies. However, our youngest is so active that she needs around 4% per day even though she's 3 now. Its important to weigh your dogs regularly to make sure you're getting it right, but we would do that anyway.

We've fed raw for 4 years, turning to it in desperation after a succession of dry foods caused frequent upset tummies for our oldest bitch. When the puppy came along, she went straight onto it after we brought her home. No regrets, wouldn't feed anything else.

We raw feed put westie and it changed his life; less itching, no bleeding guts, better energy etc.
We use jack wolf ready made frozen food, had the perfect concentration of meat, offal, bones and veg.
We also give him other pits and bobs like egg, raw chicken wing (never cooked!) and cuts of our raw meat

We feed ours raw, ready made from a local shop called Nuture them Naturally (she does supply lots of small chain pet shops so worth having a look on her FB page).
We started off our puppy a teaspoon at each meal time (she was fed kibble) and then over the course of 2 weeks upped the amount and reduced the kibble until she was fully raw fed. No smelly breath, no smelly farts, no smelly or runny poo, just a very healthy dog!

I use Nutriment raw food. It’s fantastic stuff for all the reasons stated above. I considered making my own but I worried about getting the right balance of ingredients. They can’t have too much of certain things, and need the extra nutrients that certain oils and vegetables give them. Nutriment has all of that down to a fine art, so I just go with them. They are available online and do a pretty good value bulk buy. You need a lot of freezer space though. Or lots of independent pet shops stock them.

Natures Menu Country Hunter for us. It is frozen cubes (we feed 12 cubes a day) that you can get at Pets At Home or have delivered. various flavours. He has been on it since he was a pup. No grain or added crap which is important for me. Small, odourless poop too. I give him Yumove too, coconut oil and various raw fruits and veg too. He is a 6.5 year old miniature dachshund weighing 6kg.

Another happy dog on Natures Menu.
She is a rescue dog that we have had for just over 2 years. When we got her (from abroad) she was still in poor condition and had very little hair. This is all we feed her and she is really fit, fluffy and well now.
