Outstanding balance due soon for flight in dec?
Hi hoping some of you can help from experience!
We are supposed to go in December and our virgin hol balance is due on 17th sept. Personally I can’t see us being allowed to go but do we still pay our remaining balance even if it gets cancelled and then wait for the whole lot back or can we not pay the outstanding amount and get our deposit back if the flights are cancelled? |

Thanks for replying I thought as much, just a shame I could be waiting months to get a refund though!
I’ve a friend who still haven’t been refunded from a trip a few months ago but then I’ve read virgin hols have refunded others in weeks! |

We are in the same position, our deposit is due September 26th for our December holiday.
You can change your holiday if you contact them but not sure if they will add more costs. I will pay our balance and just let them cancel and sit and wait for the refund. |

We managed to get in touch with Virgin Hols this morning (our balance is due 28th Sept). The lady said wait and see and ring back a few days before the balance is due to be paid. The holiday wont be cancelled if you don’t pay the rest of the balance on time. If we cancel we lose our deposit. As there is a Disney element to our holiday booking, we can change with no costs until 30th October, and this date may be extended in future, if we hang on.

We were in the same position with Virgin we had an outstanding balance of around 10k due at the end of July for a departure date of end of September. We knew we did not want to go to Florida until things were back to normal so we didn’t pay the balance and just accepted that we would lose the deposit. However, Virgin contacted us in the middle of August and gave us the option of moving the holiday , taking a credit note or getting our deposit back! We asked for the refund and they said this would take up to 80 days - Result!

If Virgin Holidays give you a voucher and allow a date change would they sort out any seat upgrades as it is Virgin Atlantic?

Thanks for all the replies, I think in the next few weeks we’ll contact virgin just before balance due and see what the situation is and what options we have, if we have to pay the outstanding amount to ultimately get our deposit back then we’ll have to do that.

We were due to pay our balance 4th aug, obviously we don’t want to go in Oct due to the current crisis so we filled in the online form wanting to change our booking or get a voucher, a refund even better! The form states aN adviser would be in contact to help with our booking, we are still awaiting them to contact us on our booked holiday ( which we haven’t paid balance) is 50 days away! Still waiting a call back, & our holiday is still showing on our VH app x they are really taking their time getting back to us! Hope they cancel for 25th oct so we get our £700 dep back! X they changed our flight from LGW to LHW we prefer to fly from Gatwick! I’d rather wait to book later in 2021 but we have Disney tickets paid for need using by 30/09/21
