Is there a trick to keeping cut holly from drying out?
For the first time ever we have berries on our holly tree. I would like to cut a couple of sprigs and keep it looking for at least three days over Christmas.

I seem to remember years ago painting the cut end with clear nail varnish to seal it and prolong its life.

I've had some cut sitting in a vase with water in it and it's literally lasted over two weeks now but still looks as good as the day I cut it.
