I had my first offer for children's nursing from Edge Hill the day after my interview on Thursday, yet to hear a peep from LJMU or Chester but very pleased to have 1 offer under my belt. I've only applied to 3 as need to stay local as a mature student and mum of 3 but particularly wanted Edge Hill or LJMU for the opportunity to do placements at Alder Hey. Congratulations to all the young people on their offers so far

If you don’t mind me asking, was that £160 every week or a certain amount of weeks in the year? Or is that the cost it works out at per annum?
Thanks

Floridatilly, my dd has two friends that live in non uni accommodation just near the cathedral and it’s lovely. I think they only pay around £110 a week. I will find out what it’s called and message you.
Edited to add: I would be wary of Greenbank as it’s a bus ride into the city and the buses are often full on a morning meaning you have to wait for a couple to go until you can get on one.

My son is at greenbank and he loves it. I moved him in and I was so impressed with the facilities. I own a lot of student accommodation elsewhere and I was really happy with the standard they offered for the money. Obviously this year has been mainly online so I can’t comment on the transport but his friend who was there last year said he never had a problem.
He has an en-suite room and it was virtually new and spotless when he moved in with shared kitchen facilities with the other 6/8 flats on his floor. Kitchen facilities were excellent.
Don’t get me started on my daughters ...

We looked round Greenbank and it was lovely. I guess the transport issues may be impacted by what time you need to leave. Dd has friends from her course there and they now get an Uber in as they had lots of problems getting in for the 9am lectures with the buses.

This year has been many online for most so I guess they haven’t had to deal with the transport side. It’s a huge facility and managed so well.
I’ve always liked that area of the city and spent a lot of time down there when I was younger so I was happy with him choosing there. Kids played tennis at Palmerston and Liverpool tennis centre many times too and I guess yours did too!

Yes, they have, lots. We probably know a lot of the same people!😂
Dd is starting back to some face to face teaching next week. Let’s hope they are back full time in September. She only has another year there to go and feels she’s missed so much.

Accommodation is usually 42 weeks, so around £6700 for the year.

I think accommodation for the year varies between £5000 and £7000, depending on the university

Both mine are doing their first year. My son should have gone last year but the timing wasn’t right due to what was happening at home ☹️
Hopefully next year will be better for them all
