We've had our first tears tonight.

For some reason the art teacher thought it was a good idea to tell them the marks that have gone to the moderators. (Added stress they don't need). To make it worse she told Katie she had scored in the low 80's on both coursework and exam and then realised she had told her Beth's marks and Katie had actually got high 60's for both.

So tears from Katie who feels she's never good enough and tears from Beth who feels she can't celebrate as her sister is upset!

The teacher at DDs school did this too! Luckily, DD doesn't take Art but some of her friends were very upset. Art seems to be one of the subjects that they pour their hearts into (and all their time too) so it's even worse when it doesn't go well. I just don't understand why the teachers think it's a good idea to tell them their marks when they are in the middle of their exams. I hope your DD is okay, bless her.

DD has Physics today,which is the one I am most worried about because she does double science and Physics really brought her mark down in the mocks. Oh well, she doesn't need it for her future.

DS has just announced that he thinks physics is the easiest of the science subjects! We shall see how he feels after today!

Well, just had the call from dd to say physics went really badly had to do my best to make her stay at school for an English Lit revision session for tomorrow.
I must admit I’m feeling worried about her GCSEs now as quite a few seem to have gone badly

I knew it was going too well! I had the panicked messaging from DD before the Physics exam, she was freaking out. I think it’s because she’s taking the higher paper whereas the other 2 Sciences are Foundation. I’ve not heard from her since as she’s got revision but I’m hoping and praying it went ok.

I got the usual "ok" about Physics but apparently this was neither a "good ok" or a "bad ok" it was an actual ok. Got to love teens and texts!

We my daughter managed to stay in her exams of maths and geography yesterday after her meltdown

Things are just getting worse though, she came out of Physics and she completely mucked up, they were given a sheet of equations to help in one section and she forgot about it, she did the questions without and wondered why they were impossible! She said she has lost 20 marks so has now written off physics

I could cry, she tries hard and she can do the work but put her in an exam and she goes to pieces


Well at least I know she has passed one which is Art as her teacher told her her mark

Heard from Freddie who is doing Physics higher and he said it was “decent” which is more than I was hoping for. Hope he’s not being too over confident as he has struggled with the subject.
