Came home via Philly one year after the BA flight to Gatwick was cancelled. Friendly staff, very efficient, had a bit of no nonsense about them - there was one passenger who was just a ***** for no reason, quite condescending toward the staff, the way they dealt with him was a thing of beauty, so polite, so professional, just the right touch of patronising...

Would happily fly with AA again.

Agree indirect via PHL is great - very well organised and felt that most people were going off connecting somewhere! They held our flight to mco as we were delayed leaving man, all worked very well.

Is there anywhere at PHL that’s a sit down restaurant type of place?

At MCO we normally have a meal at Outback before getting on the plane but I don’t really recognise any of the names. Any recommendations? Somewhere similar where we can sit, chill and eat something nice with a lager?

Thank you!

I have been looking at a Man-Phil-MCO flight and this has made me feel better about booking them.

Just need to wait for our dates to come out although the 2 weeks before look a reasonable price so if they are the same I will be happy

Yes, it’s the same regardless of airline combination. Unless your flight to the US is from an airport with preclearance (eg Dublin), you have to clear immigration and customs at the first point of entry, which with a connection means claiming checked bags to clear customs and dropping them off again after customs as described.

I'd like to jump in and ask if 50 min is long enough to transfer from a domestic flight at JFK or Detroit onwards to LHR

Take a look at this for the food and shops. Philly airport is very spread out, but there are sit down restaurants dotted around. I have eaten at Legal Sea Food (very good). Avoid anything listed as Terminal F as that is a very long walk from the main terminal and is for smaller regional flights.
