yeah another thread said they were putting drink machines etc in Trin South so ppl there wouldn't need to walk all the way up to OPR for basics - perhaps they will add a second food court/ts place over at the new development too. Don't think OPR could cope with another 500 ppl at cbr in July...

It's a food and drinks place that's going in at Trinidad south. Guessing something similar to what they have at the Grandstand and paddock quiet pools at SSR.

They are also demolishing some of the older buildings so its not clear yet what the overall capacity would be. Quite a few of the buildings and facilities are over 30 years old and need replacing.
There is no mention of it being DVC, this is just a rumour that has been going around for some time.
Suggestions that there could be a building 5 storeys high built to disrupt the view from the Bonnet Creek resorts of Epcot...

Sounds like there's lots of different 'projects' in the pipeline for CBR then.

I guess this could impact in both negative and positive notes, both during and after construction completed.

During construction, noise could possibly be an issue, possibly extra traffic with the construction crew needing to move things in and out.
It may also spoil the scenic views as the building gets higher.
On a positive note, maybe there'll be a few hundred less people at CBR, so food court, resort/park buses & main pool maybe a little quieter?

Once the new build has been completed, I'm assuming there'd be a few hundred more people than previously occupied Barbados village, so, hopefully, there'll be more buses going to from parks & another large pool/food area.

We'll be there this summer, so trying to focus on the possible positives. 😁😎

I agree Lisa. It's the only logical explanation given non DVC room occupancy rates. I remember some speculation about linking CBR to the Epcot area by waterway, but I can't see anything on that. I've always thought it such a shame that CBR is so close to Epcot, as the crow flies, but you have to still take the bus.

There are plans for a possible connection to Epcot. No idea where, when or If it will happen though.

I should apologise, it's probably our fault, we seem to have a curse when it comes to refurb and Disney property and we've booked to stay there in October.

Stayed at the All Star Music a number of years ago and were by the main pool which was closed for refurb. Then Coronado Springs in 2015 overlooking one of the small pools which, you guessed it, was closed for refurb.

So looking forward to CBR which we chose because it looked so picturesque, hope it doesn't spoil it.

DD and BF are staying there in October too ,hope it won't affect their stay might get them to check.
