How is it cheaper to stay offsite? My maths says it's not...

Help me!? These are my workings.
I'm obviously missing something?

If you have 4 or 5 "adults" and get free dining it can work out about quits. If you are onsite you also save on car hire and parking charges at the parks. You do have to eat at the character dining locations or some of the nicer restaurants to really make it pay for itself. If you have picky eaters or small eaters it may not be worth it.
If you have to pay for the dining then it obviously is not to your advantage.

I haven't read your workings out but our last two trips and next trip offsite costs didn't add up at all.

It obviously depends on what sort of holiday you're after etc but for us, we knew we'd be spending a lot of time at the Disney parks and therefore eating onsite and parking there. Once car parking and food is added on then onsite worked out best plus the perks such as EMH, Magical Express and internal bus system (we've always had a car anyway but this year we're not so will be taking full advantage of DME and the park buses!).

Now you have Your workings up I can see that you are quoting for 10 adults. Sorry I was reading this the wrong way round and have amended my reply below.
You would probably get a villa cheaper than what you quote but I would not like to share my holiday at a villa with 10 adult people. X
Also your car hire would be higher that what you quote as that would just be for one car and it is probably not doeable with that many adults as I would guess that you would want to do your own thing at times?
Depends what you want from a holiday as offsite you also have to leave to go eat and miss out on the fireworks, etc.

We are here off site at the moment.

I'd say food is your biggest miscalculation-we have stayed around the £50 per day in total for most of the days we've been here so far (13 days). We are a party or 2 adults and 2 children (9 and 7). We have been eating either breakfast and dinner or lunch and dinner and just having snacks inbetween.

trust me in that heat and humidity you do not eat 3 full meals a day
if you go red lobster for dinner you get a 3 course meal for $15,you can have cereal or some fruit in the villa for breakfast
we are a family of 4 with 2 teenagers food wise it is on average $100 per day max for all of us
