Definitely contact Hayes and Jarvis as well as its them you paid. Forward a copy of your email to them tell them you need to be moved, call them if possible.

It seems Wellington Loop is on Lindfields? That's a fairly popular area for villa rentals, certainly not an unsafe area.

As others have said - take photos! If you do need to go through insurance they will not accept anything unless you can prove it with photos so take lots. We had to once when we had issues with a villa as it was touch and go if they would give us the money back. They did however when they saw the photographs. Unfortunately the feeling unsafe bit is often not deemed as a reason to move which is crazy! Definitely keep contacting the company to get this sorted and do not unpack! If you can ask to speak to a manager in the company and see if that gets it moving. I hope you get things sorted!

Would insurance cover this sort of thing though ? I don't see why they would .

Feel so sorry for you . If you can afford to move then I would contact the villa owners on here , someone will have a villa that is free or be able to contact t heir management company that will know of one.

As already said take lots of photos , contact your insurance company to see if they cover you . Did you pay with a credit card ? If you did can you claim the money back from them as you purchased something that is not as advertised ? Just a thought ?

Good Luck , keep coming on here there are so many people that will be able to help you .

It is not an insurance matter, never seen a policy yet to cover a refund on a villa that is not what you were expecting

Yes me too and then first thing to where you got the keys. What a waste of a day but at least you don't spend your holiday feeling unsafe.

When you chose allocated on arrival it's always a bit of a gamble. I'm afraid your insurance won't cover your sub standard villa. I'd sleep on it before making any harsh decisions, but definitely go back to where you picked the keys up from and complain. If that doesn't work look to rent somewhere else. Good luck
