Yes but if you go further up north to Edinburgh the house prices are not cheap!

4 bedroom semi detached 1904 built red sandstone house in Ayr , 10 minute walk from town large garden that houses a shed and a garage ( well converted into a pub but garage originally) and a pergola and still has a decent grass area too. not sure what the house is worth now but we paid £135k 11 years ago

I live in a four bed town house near Cardiff. There’s three of us, DH, DS (14) and me. I love that our bedroom covers the entire top floor. We aren’t planning on being here for too long though as DH longs to renovate a country cottage.
