They are set prices. Everywhere is the same price for the same bands. They vary from 14.99 for the plain ones up to 29.99 for some of the printed and LE ones. A few of the really specialty ones can be a bit higher.

On very rare occasions you can find cheap ones selling off at the Outlets aka Character Warehouse.

I've been with and without MagicBands, you don't need them but it's so easy to have them and not worry about anything else.

I received an email from attractiontickets.com and they're giving away free MAgicBands with 2020 Disney ultimate tickets which to me is great as we want to go next year but dont want to stay onsite or spend the $15 pp on these!

You do not need them, they are great though. I have all mine from previous visits. Some plain and some with pictures on.

As above I am not staying on site and this will save me money which we all love.

They are a novelty, but a nice novelty to have. When I've had mine they always enhance the memory maker too with little videos and things on some rides that the normal tickets don't do so yeah I think it's worth having. Also saves you from taking them out your purse/wallet or pocket to go thru the fastpass queue and take out for the memory maker pics as well so convenient too.

ATD i think (or attractiontickets.com as they are now) are doing special Star Wars ones for next year at the mo. Not a SW fan myself but suppose it'd be pretty cool for anyone who is.

For many years there were no magic bands and we managed just fine with a plastic card in a lanyard. There are a small handful of rides where the ride photo cannot be scanned manually but they are few in number.
