Have you asked your landlord if you could put in a ceiling fan? We have them in all of our rooms and it is only a couple of screws into the ceiling for the fan's fixing.

You can either take back out when you leave and fill/paint or leave in place and the landlord would benefit I suspect.

No, I just assumed as we're not normally allowed to do anything like that! But you're right it could be worth asking. As long as we could easily remove it as we don't plan to be here much longer hopefully.
