Mobile I’m an idiot!

Currently sat on Santa Cruz beach and have just realised I have left our passports in the room safe in our hotel in San Francisco!
Have called Columbus Motor Inn who have located them and put them in their safe until we come back to San Fran on the 7th August. I’m now wondering whether it would be better to get them Fed Ex’d to our next accommodation in Monterey. What would you do?

Thanks Helen, this is what I originally thought so said to leave them there but now panicking thinking it would be best to get hold of them ASAP. We’ve only had verbal confirmation so will send them an email now!

My son left his wallet in the bedside table when we stayed at the Holiday Inn at Santa Clarita. He realised as we were almost at the end of our drive to San Diego! I rang the hotel and they kindly sent it by Fed Ex to us

It's about an hours drive back to SF, just nip back up and pick them up.

Could you not go back and get them? It’s good that the hotel has them and will keep them for you but will you feel better to have them in your hand?

If it’s only an hour away I’d have to go back and get them.

I would have gone straight away and collected them. Wouldn’t relax on holiday without them.

Have you got them?

Thanks everyone for your replies. I would have gone back, in fact I wanted to go back but others in the party said that once we knew they were safe at the hotel it would be fine. To be fair what should have been a 90 minute journey took us 2 and a half hours and the traffic going the other way looked worse.
I’ve emailed the hotel who have replied with photo confirmation they have them. I think I will get them Fed Ex’d over, is there a same day delivery service?
