For the record, I don’t work for 3 but I do work for a local telco so can see both sides of the coin.
I had trouble last year in America, I phoned 3... what a waste of time that was... he said “If you had said that you had a problem before going.” I shouted at him at that point as I had tried everything that they said to do, “As I wasn’t in America before I came, how would I know that I had a problem?” I found out on my return to the UK that it was the SIM in the phone

Despite what people may say, it is possible to have a faulty SIM, it’s not very common, but unfortunately it does happen.
