I have to say I’m with you on this. At the AK restaurants that do QS ADRs you are allocated a table by all accounts. If you’re not given a table at ABC Commissary and it’s just a free for all what exactly are you reserving?

We were there a couple of weeks ago and had an ADR. We found it clean, no problem getting a table and the food was fine. I am guessing that the reservation v walk up is so that they have a mechanism for controlling it from becoming too overcrowded?

I can see reservations for QS being a good thing on the one hand, although does it just have a more adverse effect on other non reservation QS places?

We were on DDP for this trip (our first) and while we enjoyed our TS meals most of the places we went were once and done for us and if we decide to go back we would most likely just go for QSDP, one of the main reasons being we could eat when we wanted rather than being tied to ADRs. If too many QS places get transferred to needing ADRs not sure what we would.

Maybe . At least with Be Our Guest every has to reserve so not getting a table allocated is less of a worry. I just don’t get making an ADR then going looking for a table while walk ups do the same.

So here now and there is a point to the ADR. In the evening they divide the place in two, one side walk in and the other ADR. If you don’t have a reservation and walk in is full up, then you’re refused entry. Reservation side yesterday evening had plenty of room, walk in looked rammed. Glad I did it.
