We also turn them inside out and use them to take our stuff to the British Heart Foundation shop in town. I’ve always suspected that most of them are dodgy anyway

We gets loads through a week too. Probably at least 2-3. My mil collects them and gives them to my sil when she goes to visit her. My sil uses them as bin liners.

We left stuff out once and it didn’t get collected! Our high street has plenty of charity shops though, so usually ends up at heart foundation or cancer research, depending if it’s heavy or not!
The bags get used for other things! Waste not want not and all!

I just collect them to fill for our local charity shops. Never leave the bags out empty or full. A couple of months ago I had a full carrier bag of them but as we have been clearing out to move I have actually run out! But I agree that they don't seem to have an rhyme or reason to who and when they are delivered!

27 last month 18 so far this month. 7 from one charity alone. We do fill the one for the local children's hospice, since they take books and bric a brac - not just textiles. The others get used for bins, swimming and sent back for recycling with carrier bags and multi can/bottle/loo roll sleeves to Tesco when they deliver groceries.

We don’t get many, but my mum who lives on the other side of town, gets loads. I use them as bin liners, and old clothes I take to a friend who’s church runs a homeless centre

I’m another who takes stuff direct to local charity shop. I use the bags for rubbish. I sometimes see neighbours put out these bags filled to be collected and it annoys me to think scammers are profiteering from this.

I used to leave full charity bags out for collection but nobody used to call to pick them up. We now take ours to the local Sense shop. If we have a large amount of bulky items they are collected by the husband of a lady who works there. They live just up the road. A lot of the bags put through the letter box are for charities have never even heard of. When my children were a lot younger I used to bag them up for foster carers who appreciated clothes for a variety of different ages.

To be honest I don't care who takes the stuff, so long as I no longer have to get rid of it. I have no transport, someone else gets to use , or profit from, my unwanted stuff, that is fine.

I use those bags as bin liners. Decent clothes go to TK Maxx or if suitable Hands on hands out. Other stuff did go to the local charity shop but I don't like or trust one of the volunteers in there now so I'm saving it up to go further afield.
