Hopefully as you've read on I haven't put you off as it's a beautiful city. I think you are right it is shameful that your OH hasn't seen the sound of music but I wouldn't let a small detail like that put you off!

Is your OH into 007? My DH discovered that many of the scenes from Spectre were filmed on location near Salzburg in Solden. Unfortunately we didn't get to go to the James Bond exhibition as it wasn't open when we were there, I'm not sure if it's ready yet, but here is a link.
