This time of year tends to be when holiday companies crash as it's the worst time of year for liquidity .

I'm not getting into a debate on here whether paying DD for a holiday is right or wrong, everyone makes their own choices! But I'm paying for my holiday with TC by DD as its interest free! So for me it works best!

Well Ive booked some flights with them for early next year.
I would like to think all will be well with them, and happy to keep my booking.
Worst case scenario, claim back off CC and re book.

But I do hope they carry on as the less operators-the more expensive flights/holidays will become.

At no point have I implied that people who cant get credit are stupid as a self employed person I know the pitfalls.
I'm pretty sure you don't pay interest on the direct debit option as you're not 'borrowing' any money.

That's not my qoute. I haven't said anything about paying interest. It was the one that's interested in how people pay for their holiday, you've made it look like mine.

I didn't even spot that, fixed it..

Easy mistake to make seeing as someone previously quoted incorrectly.

No problem. I was just initially pointing out why some people might have to pay by direct debit. Or simply just prefer it as you have said.

I agree.
If everybody held out after their initial deposit payment, then paid remaining balance in full 12 weeks before departure, then surely this would result in severe cash flow problems for the operator. As we are witnessing now. It used to be 8 weeks before you fly to clear your remaining balance, then it was reduced to 10, now it is 12 with most operators. So clearly delaying full or monthly DD payments is having a negative effect with their cash flow/turnover margins. I assume things like hotel payments, airline fuel and airport fees etc have to be pre-booked and payed well in advance by the operator regardless of their passengers methods of payment, so you can see how a constant cash flow is crucial.
