Hi! Is there any other Dibbers that home educate their little ones? I have a 6 year old daughter who has never been to school

Someone I know did. Her daughter is now in her second year at Cambridge studying something like Ancient Greece history! She got top grades in GCSEs and A levels. I think she may have gone to college to do A levels mind. To be honest I don’t think the mum can really take much credit, the girl is exceptionally bright and I think was mainly self taught!

I’m an English teacher but I don’t think I’d know enough about other subjects to be able to home school my kids. I know some people who do though and they’re part of a group on fb so their kids still get to socialise with other home schooled kids.

Hi. Yes I've home educated our daughter since she was seven.
She is fourteen now and just going into college part time to do gcses. There is a huge home ed community where we live and opportunities to take part in all sorts of activities and classes. |

That’s awesome! Offering college at 14 has always been my plan with my little one! We have a huge network aswell, although we don’t always participate I’m hoping to find a like minded Disney loving pen pal for my daughter... thought the Dibb would be a great place to look!

Think you'll definitely find a lovely penfriend on the Dibb.
Nice to find another home educating Dibber. Xxx |

we are starting to home educate our children as well (son 6 daughter 1), my Son currently goes to a private school. we get the keys to our first house on Friday (been renting 12 years together). new house is a detached farmstead with loads of outbuildings and space and best of all no neighbours. my partner has been collecting and reading everything on the subject for a good year now... we are in the local FB groups for N Lincolnshire where we are moving to. we have a dedicated room for the home school. big decision esp as the school he is in is the best pre-prep and prep school in the country according to the TES. I think it will be rewarding for both my son and partner being able to learn through whatever interest them rather than rote learning.
