Yes - that's exactly it. I enjoy paying more for something whenever I can and actively find ways to pay as much as I can for everything I buy.

You're very astute and have seen right through me there!

As far as I'm concerned the holiday only starts once the plane has taken off.
No for me the holiday starts when the given lock code works on the villa key lock box and the front door key is released. I am not good at trusting people, you hear all these horror stories ...

Every single holiday we have, I love all the planning putting together, getting a deal etc etc. then the nearer it gets the more I start to question everything. Getting in the car to drive to the airport I am almost hyperventilating with the fear of what I have forgotten or not done correctly or will we get to the airport in time etc etc...
We have been going to Canada every February for the last 15 years & still I feel like I have described - I have no idea why!

Not sure that’s always the case, unless you are travelling at a time when all the LHR hotels are busy. There are so many hotels at Heathrow they can’t always fill them. I’ve got four star hotels a number of times with one month to go. My price point is around £40. I’m happy at a PI too but I like those a little bit cheaper. Also, booking flights isn’t always something I do massively in advance. Our last holiday I was still fiddling with dates and destinations six weeks before we went.

DDD - have a great holiday!

I have pre-trip panic, but for my 18 year old dd's trip! 😳 She flys on Sunday with her 18 year old friend! I'm way more stressed then she is 🤣. Her friend has only been once before with her family so my dd is in charge! I will be grey by the time she gets home 😖! If any one is on the BA flight to Orlando on Sunday, keep an eye out for them for me! 🤣!

For me it's the night before I have a total freak out. Every single year. So if you are looking down at my countdown... Yup. We go tomorrow and I am on here trying to DIBB myself out of a complete panic, so I was immediately drawn to this thread!

I do it every year. I know its totally irrational. But I still do it.

At the moment I am finding multiple reasons not to go at all.

Just keep Dibbing, just keep dibbing, just keep dibbing...

This is so me! I look forward to it 110% when we’re talking about booking and getting round to choosing what we’ll be doing. I think then the reality of all the months of saving, planning, sneaking surprises, and rechecking plans...and am sure I’ve missed something! One more sleep and hopefully the worrying will all be worthwhile and we’ll all have a wonderful holiday. Not sure what we do to stop the worrying! Enjoy yourselves!

I’m the same double check everything, when we leave the house for airport I’m still checking my bag for passports money etc etc,( even though I’ve checked them at least 5 times before ) Hubbie is fed up with me so, he puts it all in his rucksack now my holiday starts once I’m through the security & in the Duty Free
