Alamo Pre-pay option on website

I am trying to book car rental for next September on the Alamo website. I am selecting the pre-pay option that gives a discount but when the card payment is authorised, the next screen has an error message saying pre-payment cannot be processed and to use the pay later option (which is more expensive). Anyone else had issues like this?

To be honest I never prepay as I book and constantly check the price if it comes down cancel and rebook just saves a lot of faffing with refunds on CC etc

Have you tried booking Alamo through Andy at DFCH.

Highly recommended by Dibbers and used by us around 6 or 7 times in the last 3 or 4 years.

You can cancel and rebook with him if price goes down without penalty and choose to pay later.

OP. I assume you are on the Alamo UK website and not the USA one?

If the payment doesn't go through you can ring them and they will take the payment for the amount you see not the higher one.

Have you also checked all the other usual suspects such as Auto Europe, Virgin Atlantic, Netflights etc etc

Thanks - yes it is on the UK site. I have sent an online enquiry to them but not had an answer yet.
