Your favourite film opening sequence

A toss up from two for me

The wedding from The Godfather, just think it’s a wonderful piece of cinema

Star Wars: A New Hope. When that star destroyer rumbles overhead it instantly connected with a 9 year old Wazza

Probably one of the James Bond films, they usually start with a great action sequence. Or Saving Private Ryan. Or Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Not a favourite but one I found really impressive (not least cos it's Sylvester Stallone and his acting isn't the best but...)

Cliffhanger

Once the introduction is over the movie is just a regular not that great movie...but the opening...jaw-dropping

Inception, exceptional movie with an excellent cast, incl Di Caprio, Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Pete Postlethwaite and Michael Caine. Inception becomes more into focus with each viewing!

2001 a space oddessy for me. The music makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck and everyone knows the film - even those who have never seen it - just from that opening sequence.

But also agree with TGT - Cliffhanger was the first time I was shocked by an opening... The whole cinema squealed "Noooooo" at the same moment.
