Thanks for replying, that’s really helpful information.

I notice you’re going for your 10th wedding anniversary, is that October? We’re trying to decide between early October (our 19th wedding anniversary or early September for possibly better weather.

Anyway, hope you enjoy your wedding anniversary in DLP.

Our anniversary trip is September. We've been in both. September will be hot as you can imagine, but October is still very pleasant with warm sunny days and the occasional chilly morning, plus everything is Halloween themed. Both are good

Regarding October, I went October just gone and had 24° weather each day. Was a surprise to be fair, but also lovely! X

We really like the way they manage to switch between languages - the French sections let us feel that we are in France, and the English bits help us keep up with the story, etc!

The CMs often say lovely things to my children for talking to them in the few bits of French that they know. Not so much for me, though - I always try to talk in French to the CMs and they always reply in English😂 I try not to think about what that says about their opinion of my ability to hold a conversation in French!

Am I being a bit daft? Surely a name is a name. Why do they change the character names to suit the language? I must be missing something. Why would Chip and Dale become Tic and Tac lol.

Chip and Dale is a pun on Chippendale (the furniture not the stripping boys!). So it doesn’t work in other languages. Goofy means ‘silly’. So in other languages that wouldn’t work.

All over the world, fairy tale characters have always had different names. For instance Cinderella is a French story so her name is originally Cendrillon.

Also some languages don’t feature certain sounds, or the name is difficult to say.

I have no idea why Mike Wazowski is called Bob in France though!

As far as I remember it was both. Even if you did get to hear English it would be spoken with a hard French accent.
