Viva Las Vegas, Spice and Cowboys Day 1
Day 1 Sunday 9th December
Early Start 4.30am. I packed my case and loaded the car on Saturday night, I just had to get my sorry bum out of bed, showered and dressed followed by the short drive to Brother Dave’s house, a 10 minute drive especially at this time of the morning with only the Saturday night taxi’s in the town centre to compete for road space. Brother Dave full of the joys for 4.30am! A grunt was all I expected and got, me having to be the one wide awake for the drive to Manchester. For some reason Dave woke up, when he found out the big Ricky Hatton Merryweather fight was on Five Live and insisted I swopped my Take That CD for the radio (Glum). Arrived at the Airport in Good time, just as check in opened and having booked the short stay Terminal 3, it was a short walk and wait for check in BMI flight 750 we were in our way, quickly through security and then our Airport tradition the bacon bun, or in Airport speak how to fleece customers of their pounds before they leave the country (£12). Time to luck around the shops in terminal 3 on two levels and then to the gate for the flight, Seated, head phones out and we were on our way for the 10.5 hour flight. Food – Lunch, Chicken and potatoes or Sausage and Mash, usual stuff, later in the flight snack sandwich and a kit Kat, best part of both meals in my opinion. Films- watched stardust and Ratatouille. The rest of the flight was uneventful and we were soon through immigration. Now we had to find the shuttle Showtime shuttles to take us to the Mandalay bay. The shuttles go from terminal 1 and the BMI fly into terminal 2 so we had to walk around the side of the terminal and risk life and limb crossing where the taxis drop off people for terminal 1 to get to the shuttle pick ups. A small queue waiting for shuttles mostly Cowboys hats and wranglers but the buses soon came around and filled up so within 20minutes we were on the short trip to Mandalay bay, dropping off at MGM, Monte Carlo and THE hotel first before the Mandalay bay valet drop off. Hotel fantastic entrance with a large aquarium, there was no wait for check in, soon on our way to the room, arrived on the 4th Floor to find one bed in the room unhappy after asking the girl on reception that the room had 2 beds! . Back down to reception, different totally the man this time got us a beach view on the 21st floor. Rest and recoup then out for a bite to eat. Found the Red white and blue cafe in the hotel, had lunch, Dave had burger and chips, me meatballs and spaghetti. We had a walk to the coIMG]nvention centre to pick up the tickets from the box office for the Spice Girls on Tuesday Evening. We noticed that a lot of cowboys wee heading towards for one of the convention halls so we went to investigate, the cowboy Marketplace. I now know were you can buy a moose head and a pink saddle it was cowboy tat at its best. Early night with TV for our first full day in LV.

We had 4 nights at the Venetian in August. Didn't get chance to go in the Mandalay Bay but looks awesome. Look forward to the rest of your report.
