I had a lovely chat with a girl at bus stop the other week, who had an English Bull Terrier. He was a waggy friendly old boy, and she was telling me people don't really stop and talk to the dog because they think the breed is dangerous. She said he got lots of funny looks, funny thing was her nose, lips & ears were covered with piercings, and she said she didn't mind getting stares because she was used to it, but didn't want the dog to get stared at.

As a Bull Terrier owner I have had people think Bullies are nasty which is so wrong, like any dogs its the owner or their past.

Douglas is like Butter and if you are a child, my god, he lives for them , he makes a bee line straight for them, all waggy and when they have petted him and walked away, he tries to follow them, we know he was fostered with Children and I think he misses them so. Due to his disability and neglect we still have to use a pram for him, but his walking is coming on leaps and bounds and talking of bounds, he does bound some time especially when he gets really excited. But his love for people and especially children is a joy to watch. Its the only thing that gets him moving. Sadly Myrtle is wonderful in doors, but not very nice on the lead, too protective, so we rarely let people touch her, her past isn't great so we feel its our job to protect her from the world. However, she has been amazing accepting Mol and Douglas and loves them to bits and us.

Molly is butter too.

Hope Molly warms to him eventually even if it takes a while for her to overcome her bad memories of the male dogs in Spain.

You and your DH are saints for making such a difference to these precious "furry angels" ..well angels most of the time

Our Amber is just over 15 1/2 now and we keep singing "We fade to Grey" (her and me both !) by Visage to her

Just love to see Dibbers doggie tales and photos and your "Lesser Spotted Douglas" in a wheelbarrow along with the two other beautiful "patio flowers" made me smile
