I had that problem, but totally got rid of it by ditching the liquids and using good old washing powder, my washing has NEVER smelt fresher! x

If you could see the gunge that builds up in sewers from liquid detergents you'd be appalled. Powders don't create this problem. And I'm with the bicarb person. Great at removing smells and left behind gunk.

Do a wash with thin bleach and that quite often cleans it up quite nicely. Be warned though - make sure it is thin bleach. The first time I did this I used the thick bleach, poured some inside the drum and also some in the drawer dispenser. Obviously went a bit mad with it as the washing machine started foaming! I had bubbles coming out of the drawer and running down the outside of the machine. Gave hubby a good laugh though!

I agree put some bicarb in the soap dispenser (when the machine is empty) and give it a hot wash, you will be amazed to see what comes out of your machine when it empties. Also, get the drawer out, I looked in mind and it was black with build up of softener, I have one of those steam cleaners, so I gave it a good zapping with that and now it smells really good.

Pipes and drains are fine but I've now tried bicarb, vinegar, soda crystals, boil wash, cleaning the seal and the specialist cleaners you can buy, all to no avail! The drawer isn't used so is clean but it maybe I need to go back to powder.

I know you have said the pipes are fine but does that include the outlet pipe, mine smelt and I did my usual with the bicarb but still smelt so pulled pipe off to find fat from the sink had gone down part of it so was only letting water out slowly, I have now given it a good clean and smell now gone. Really hope you get it sorted.
