4 of us with 4 large cases and always get a cab at the airport, dispatcher will send you to one of the larger ones. It was easy enough to flag one down outside the hotel for the return journey too.

Check out Dial 7 free phone number from the UK. Just booked mine for Sept but did it online. Pay cash to the driver and meet outside the terminal.

Easiest option,when you’ve got luggage.
Straight out to the taxi rank, pointed to one of the larger ones & you are away. Couldn’t be easier Tracy x

We got a cab from outside. Very easy.
In our return to the airport we used the subway and air train and that was also very easy so I think if we went back we’d just do that. |

Do not get in one of the mini buses they advertise as you leave arrivals .
Our journey was horrific and the bloke brought his wife along . Very awkward and scary ride ! |

We stay in Times Square every year and always use NYCAirporter from JFK. The nearest drops to Times Square is Port Authority or Bryant Park. We always get off at Bryant Park as it is literally across from our hotel. They don't pick up at Bryant Park though for the return transfer so we normally get on at Port Authority. They are really good, comfy air-conditioned coaches with wi-fi. Can highly recommend them.

We used SuperShuttle at the beginning of the month from from JFK to the Broadway Plaza which was a short walk to Times Square. So convenient and was just over $50 for 2 of us. Personally we wouldn't use the train/subway option particularly on a first trip with luggage and children.
