Las Vegas or Bust - Day 2

Monday 14th March 2005

After a restless night we finally get up at 6.30pm. After a quick shower, it’s down to McDonalds for breakfast. We’re off to find Wal-Mart’s this morning, Rick needs to get a top-up card for his phone and luckily the sell them there. The Store is located some 20 minutes drive away from the hotel, and after a satisfying couple of hours shopping we make our way back.

The phone is eventually topped up and I make a couple of calls. Then it’s off out into the sunshine and a walk down the Strip. We have to collect our show tickets for the Cirque du Soleil shows we have pre-booked.

The first stop is The Mirage, we collect tickets for ‘O’ and then it’s on to Treasure Island where we collect the tickets for Mystere. On our way back we stop in the Forum Shops for the Disney Store, only to find that this shop has closed down too! One of the animatronics shows is about to start, so we stop and watch. The final stop is at the MGM Grand to collect the tickets for KA.

Rick has a quick nap back in our room. Tonight we are going to see Zumanity at New York, New York. We are ready at 6.00pm so we make our way over to the theatre, via the Excalibur walkways and after stopping for a quick bite to eat in the Nile Deli and having a quick go on the Slots.

The show is completely different to any of the shows we have seen before – they bill it as ‘the erotic side of Cirque du Soleil and Rick has no trouble staying awake!

We are back in our room by 9.30pm – still not managed to get over the jet lag, but we do manage to stop for Krispy Kreme donuts and coffee on the way back. It’s been a really lovely day.
