Thank you all for your support and advice. Hoping she did better than she thought, and the other exams should be fine... this was always going to be the tricky one!
Going by your replies this shouldn't be the end of the road for her Uni dream, but obviously we will look more into it after her results come back (5th Aug, I think )

Have you checked the course entry requirements on UCAS website? They will tell you if the specified grades are first sitting.. That does not mean though that they won't give a conditional place based on certain results in 6th year!
It's a stressful time! I've been through it with eldest daughter (who is now finishing 2nd year at Edinburgh Uni) and am dreading facing it all again with youngest daughter! |

Yes they can do highers in 2 sittings, the requirements may be higher than in 1 sitting though.

As Scotty said my understanding was that if grades were not attained in 1 sitting requirements might be more if they resit. Course my daughter looked at had BBCC but wanted BBBB if not 1st sitting. This years it has changed no mention of in 1 sitting but has minimum BBCC and then typical BBBB. She has to complete another 1 year course first to get onto course she wants. There is a second level entry without doing the 1 year course but the requirements are far higher .
It definately wont be the end of her dream she has 6th year . i wouldn't worry.
