I think that would put me off the hotel. How strange even having a vending machine full of speedos!

There's no way in the world I'd get my 17 year old son in a pair. We used to live in France, but the water parks where we lived didn't enforce the rule at all.

But not a serious problem in most countries...

I would be more worried about kids having a wee!

You can get swim shorts that are more like hotpants than the traditional budgie smugglers/speedos.
Still not the most flattering, but they do offer a little more coverage!

Agreed, it does seem like a very odd rule though.

you could also wear the budgie smugglers as underwear all day and then get into pool though...

kids peeing in the pool is the biggest risk surely..

but thats the french for you...

No, the onsite hotels don't enforce it.

Liberté, égalité, fraternité

Freedom - not to hide my fat bits
Equality - no not all men are created equal
Fraternity - Fat-ernity more like!

I would have never had even thought of not wearing normal swim shorts.

The dibb - learn something new, weird but new - every day.
