Still not bad if you go resale. I bought contracts 3 years ago for only $65 a point after I rented off banked points- may last ones were a bit more though. The last one I bought was $115. YOu can get contracts for that price now.

Tears and upset as soon as we unpacked - imagine again, the JOY to realise that a new Sephora was open in Disney Springs (still Downtown Disney in our eyes then). Not nosey at all.
Firstly bear in mind we are retired and holiday 3 and sometimes 4 times a year in Florida so we are under no pressure to max out the vacation.

We own in DVC and Saturday is a heavy Points night and we fly in on a Saturday. If you arrive after 6.00pm anywhere you get the room dregs, no chance of changing.

Stay in a Value, save Points, awake early and head to SSR and get the room we want. Then do something until circa 3.00pm when the room is ready. Job done.

Perfect sense!
The Saturday points are mad if you're only in for an evening
We are happy Sept users of our DVC and mainly make the most of OKW large rooms.
Have said it on here before. Our DVC 2003-4 purchases were the best thing we ever did!
My retired elder brother was one of the very first purchasers (in the first 200 apparantly) and visits 3 times also.

Am not long off !

Always wondered about this Tom. Arriving so late from the UK we are normally placed in a poor location and our requests are never given. Few years back we requested a room for my daughter in law which was wheelchair adapted. They wanted to put her on a 1st floor and no walk in shower room. Apparently the room they had for her was given to an earlier arrival who wasn’t happy with their allocation. Took ages and many phone calls to eventually accommodate her into a room suitable.

Ironically I got exactly where I asked last summer when arriving at Boardwalk from UK, but when I went to AKL and arrived at lunch, I got the exact opposite- go figure from that! I know Tom haggles with them- maybe the key, I just accepted the one at AKL and in fact I was OK with it.

We usually arrived at RPR after 5pm and got a cracking room without asking. A higher floor (less pool noise) and adjoining rooms. Then again we had paid for water view and got comments about the length of our stay so maybe that was the reason.

Either way I'm hoping we get as lucky this time.

We have only stayed onsite once and it was fabulous. Unfortunately because we went at Easter we didn’t get free dining though. I would love to return at some point but the cost is so prohibitive. Ticket prices are crazy and as we are tied to school holidays I don’t relish the thought of standing in queues all day. I’m not prepared to plan my holiday around ADR’s and FP booked months in advance it’s just too stressful.
We went to Disneyland California at Easter and it was so much more chilled due to them using the old FP system. We didn’t buy max pass and managed to ride everything we wanted including incredicoaster 5 times.
Much as it pains me to say it Disney is just becoming even more greedy than ever. Believe me I experienced their greed when I worked as a cast member back in 1998. We had some interesting sales targets to meet. Fast forward 21 years and it seems out of control.
We have booked for Florida next Easter and have a week in Orlando but will not touch the parks. We will visit DS as my parents haven’t seen it and probably go to the boardwalk but that’s it. We are then on the beach.
