Birthdays at DLP

We visit DLP in June for my daughters birthday. We are staying at hotel santa fe.

We have already booked inventions for lunch and plan to order a birthday cake.

Is there any other little things to make the week more special.

Do they do birthday badges? Can you get balloons in the hotel room?

You can get a free badge and a phone call from Mickey at City Hall.

You can order balloons and things for the room but they are stupidly expensive.

I wonder about the birthday cake. It's very expensive and it's made of ice cream so you can't take it away. It feeds about 10 people and you really only have about 20 minutes before you're mopping up a puddle of ice cream...

I had one at Cafe Mickey and we managed 2 slices each and gave away the rest. But we didn't have the dessert there. At Inventions there are so many lovely desserts, it seems a shame to pay extra for the cake.

We had a chocolate gateau at Chef Mickey for Darrin's birthday. The birthday buttons tend to be paper (when they have them). They really don't seem to celebrate birthdays the way that WDW do.
Might be worth emailing DLP and asking what they offer.

They do have proper birthday buttons now. But only ice cream cakes.

We're just back & we celebrated 2 birthdays when there! My sons & my nephews! We got birthday badges they're the same as the WDW ones now, we got them from city hall & a phone call from Mickey too. Also tell the hotel, we had chocolate coins & a happy birthday note left on the bed when it was my DD birthday last year, we didn't bother doing it this year as the boys are teens! They still loved the phone call though!

you can have birthday packages however there is a minimum. so you cant just pay for a few balloons Im afraid. They do proper cakes to order for birthdays but the price is in the hundreds. You could try do something? as a secret and put it in the room yourself, not as magical but definately cheaper. you can try emailing the hotel about a week before you go, but unfortunetly its down to whoever reads your email if you will get anything

Obviously an upgrade on the badges since we were last there. And you can get other cakes other than ice cream. They have to be ordered through the restaurant you are going to celebrate at a few days in advance of the event.
