So I don’t have a dog but we have considered it but as much as the kids would love it initially a dog is for a long time. I would never rely on my dd to come home at lunchtime because you might find the novelty will wear off. They want to be with their friends and now dd is in 5th year I’ve seen over the years how personality and friend groups changed and she’s never leave them at lunchtime as at her school doing that they’d potentially miss what’s happening or she’d be outed from that group. Mad I know !
Also what happens when dd leaves - six years is not a long time before they are off doing their own thing . I love the idea of it but honestly having looked at it many times - dh and I have decided against it
